ETHix SERIES talk with Dr. Vasiliki Rahimzadeh

by Joanna Sleigh

On the 25th of April we had the pleasure of hearing Dr. Vasiliki Rahimzadeh, Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, provide valuable insights into the metaverse, its evolving landscape, and its potential impact on healthcare.

During this EthixSeries session, Dr. Rahimzadeh offered her expertise on the complexities of Metaverse-Enabled Healthcare, discussing critical aspects such as healthcare accessibility, the integration of wellness gamification, considerations surrounding avatar rights, and the intricate governance policies involved. Moreover, she facilitated a thought-provoking dialogue on the ethical challenges inherent in this emerging field, drawing from a robust foundation of normative and applied bioethics research.

Following the lecture, we had a lively Q&A session with both our lab members and Zoom participants. It was fantastic to see such active participation from external attendees, highlighting our commitment to inclusivity and knowledge-sharing beyond physical boundaries.
